The SafariFusion™ Registration and Routing Application (RRA) provides the IMS equivalents of I-CSCF, S-CSCF, HSS and BGCF, and it supports both IMS/PacketCable® 2.0 and non-IMS/PacketCable interfaces. RRA allows network operators to rapidly deploy scalable telephony and multimedia services with centralized subscriber registration, flexible triggering to scalable IMS services and efficient routing to non IMS components.
As network complexity increases with multiple switching platforms, different endpoint types, increased routing options and more complex applications, network operators can rely on RRA to reduce both network complexity and network operating costs. RRA runs on the SafariFusion™ Application Platform, which also allows network operators to swiftly deliver telephony and multimedia services. SafariFusion is architected to fit within IMS and PacketCable 2.0 networks, but also supports non-IMS interworking—allowing network operators to leverage their initial equipment investment in voice and introduce next-generation multiparty, multimodal, multimedia services or “fused” services.
RRA enables cost-effective migration to IMS/PacketCable 2.0 environments without an expensive network disruption. It provides the IMS advantage of separating the access layer from the application via a control layer, allowing network operators to create scalable services while managing network evolution to IMS/PacketCable environments.
RRA Highlights
- Provides a cost-effective migration path to IMS/PacketCable 2.0 infrastructure.
- Enables centralized registration and flexible triggering to IMS services.
- Offers efficient off-net routing functions to the PSTN or to SIP peering networks.
- Operates with the SafariFusion™ Residential Communications Application (RCA) software and the SAFARI C3™ Multimedia Switching System as well as third-party application servers.
- Allows network operators the IMS benefit of separating the access layer from the application layer via a control layer.
- Enables integrated management of Cedar Point platforms and applications to streamline operations and maintenance.
Centralizing Critical Services
- Centralizes registration and routing services, allowing network operators to leverage a scalable foundation for voice and multimedia services.
- Enables centralized control over endpoints throughout the distributed network.
- Registers SIP endpoints and authorizes authenticated users to efficiently utilize carrier services.
- Maintains the registration location information, which is stored in the SafariFusion database.
- “Homes” authorized users, registering them on the network and enabling call routing of diverse services.
- Provides centralized call routing to all terminating endpoints, either over the PSTN or to peer SIP networks.
- Offers an efficient and scalable migration to IMS/PacketCable 2.0 environments, allowing network operators to centrally manage routing and registration for both SIP and NCS users.
